How to create custom GPT for your E-commerce site using PrimeFinder

Custom GPTs represent the latest method for individuals to engage with your ideas, ensuring you stay ahead in the AI rush. PrimeFinder is here to assist you in creating a new GPT, adding PrimeFinder actions to it, and integrating products so that people can interact with your offerings. Let's dive into the details, but first, let's cover some basics.

What's custom GPT?

OpenAI has introduced a way for individuals to create custom versions of GPTs tailored for specific tasks or purposes. This no-code solution provided by OpenAI simplifies the process of having your own ChatGPT with your data. It also allows you to connect your GPTs to the internet via APIs for tasks that can not be done from the ChatGPT interface.

What is PrimeFinder?

PrimeFinder offers a no-code solution that helps you link your products to these custom GPTs through a simple copy-and-paste process. You can create stores, add products to your store, and connect them to as many GPTs as you wish, starting to see interactions with your products.

How to create GPTs with PrimeFinder?

First and foremost, you need to go to the PrimeFinder dashboard and navigate to "Stores" on the sidebar.

Here, you can view all your created stores. If you're using PrimeFinder for the first time, you won't see anything. Let's create a new store by clicking "Create Store."

Add your store's name and a complete description of your brand. This information will be used by AI to answer queries related to your brand. Include everything someone might need to know in a simple manner. We recommend using ChatGPT to write a straightforward paragraph that represents your store.

Upon creating your store, the first thing you'll see is a link to your custom API action created by PrimeFinder. Copy this, and we can now proceed to OpenAI. It's worth mentioning that we've just created a store and haven't added any products yet. We'll cover that later in the guide, but first, we need to create a custom GPT with our newly created store by PrimeFinder.

On OpenAI, click "Explore GPTs" on the side, then click "Create" to start creating your own GPT. Ensure you are subscribed to the ChatGPT Plus membership, as it's required to create a new GPT.

Fill in all the details, from your GPT's name to its description, and provide instructions about what your GPT can do. Adding "conversation starters" is a great idea if you want to ensure people know what product to search for. Let the GPT know if you want it to have access to web browsing or DALL-E, depending on your needs. Most importantly, add your store created by PrimeFinder to this GPT by clicking on "Create New Action."

Click "Import from URL," paste the URL we just copied from PrimeFinder, and then click "Import."

You've just connected your store with your GPT. It's that easy to use PrimeFinder. However, we're not done yet. PrimeFinder ensures that your store is completely secure, so we need to create an API key within the PrimeFinder dashboard and set it on our GPT. Don't close your GPT tab yet or save it, just in case. Navigate to your "Profile" and "API Keys" inside PrimeFinder and create a new API key.

Name your API key after your store and set an expiration date, then click "Create Key."

You will see your key being generated. Make sure to save this key in a secure location, as you won't be able to see it again for security reasons. If, for any reason, you lose the key, delete it and create a new one.

Copy the key, and we will move to OpenAI again. Click on "Authentication" and set the "Authentication Type" to "API Key." Add the API key you just created from PrimeFinder. Set the "Auth Type" to "Custom" and enter "X-Api-Key" (case-sensitive) in the input box, then click "Save."

We are ready to go. You can now test the implementation using just the "Test" button from OpenAI and see that it works pretty well. Don't forget that we have not yet added a new product, so let's do that before testing. Just head over to your PrimeFinder dashboard, select your store, go to the "Products" tab, and create a new product.

Since our store is a computer goods reseller, I found a mouse on Amazon and added that as a new product.

I'm not going to add more products, but feel free to add as many products as you want. Let's head over to our GPT and test the functionality. I've saved my GPT, and we can now use it wherever we want

With just a few clicks here and there, PrimeFinder allows you to create stores and add products to them

Feel free to reach out if you have any questions

Why We Are Lazy?

Introduction In the insightful book "The Chimp Paradox," Dr. Steve Peters offers a fascinating look into our minds' workings, unraveling the complexity of human emotions and behaviors.
